Superwhisper has apps for Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, and its Meetings feature runs on the Mac. A9 Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11 only.
You want custom writing modes
Superwhisper’s modes set tone, format and language model for each app you dictate into. A9 Voice has Enhance with AI, an opt-in cleanup, and no custom modes yet.
You transcribe recorded files
Superwhisper Pro transcribes audio and video files. A9 Voice does not transcribe a file yet.
A team needs SSO or SOC 2 paperwork
Superwhisper’s Enterprise plan has centralized billing and sign-in and model access control, and its pages say it is SOC 2 Type II certified. A9 Voice has no team admin.

You want meeting notes on Windows
Record Teams, Zoom or any call and get the transcript, a summary and your action items first, with speaker names. Superwhisper’s Meetings is not available on Windows.
You don’t want a bot in your calls
A9 Voice records your mic and your computer’s audio, so nothing joins the call or shows in the participant list.
You want your own keys without Pro
Use your own provider keys, or models that run on your PC, from the free tier, and pay those providers directly.
You want notes as files
Every note is a folder of Markdown on your PC, so Claude, ChatGPT or any tool that reads files can use it.

An example: five hours of dictation a month at 4 cents an hour is 20 cents a month, or $2.40 a year, against $84.99 for Pro billed yearly. Add ten 27-minute meetings a month at 24 cents and the first year with Notes is $49 + $28.80 + $2.40 = $80.20, for meeting notes Superwhisper does not offer on Windows.

Yes, and Superwhisper has a free tier too: voice to text in any app with Whisper models. The difference is what sits around it. A9 Voice takes your own API keys on the free tier, where Superwhisper makes that a Pro feature, and adds meeting notes on Windows. Notes is free for 30 days and then costs $49 once.
Does Superwhisper take meeting notes on Windows?
No. Superwhisper’s Meetings page says it is available on Mac only, and its download page says the same. On Windows it dictates. A9 Voice takes meeting notes on Windows 10 and 11 with no bot joining the call.
Does A9 Voice work on Mac?
No. A9 Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit. Superwhisper has apps for Mac, iPhone and Android as well as Windows.
Can either one run without internet?
Yes. Download a speech model in Settings › Speech models and A9 Voice dictates and transcribes meetings with no internet. For summaries and Ask offline, point the app at a language model running on your PC. Superwhisper says it works offline too.
Can I use A9 Voice and Superwhisper together?
Yes, they are separate apps. Give each its own hold-to-talk key so one press doesn’t start both, and keep Superwhisper for the Mac, phone or modes you still want.
